Stanmore College, is a further education college in Harrow. Bouygues UK will be replacing four buildings within the college with four new builds, a combination of 3 and 4 storey buildings set around a central courtyard. The project is due to be completed in summer 2027 with work starting imminently.

We will be using our standardised ‘model school’ approach for this build which will help ensure flexibility, affordability, sustainability, reduced ongoing maintenance and surety of price and programme. By using this kit-of-parts approach with a focus on more off-site construction and combining factory prefabrication with traditional construction methods we will ensure that our buildings will set the example for high quality schools of the future.

The key project drivers are to:

  • Deliver the project in quickest timeframe, within client budget.
  • Maximise the external spaces and central courtyard.
  • Retain existing entrances and exits but create a new identity for the college.
  • Consider ground source heat pumps and PVs for DfE technical compliance.
  • Minimise disruption to the college.
