Bouygues UK Signs Menopause in the Workplace Pledge
At Bouygues UK, we are working hard to build an inclusive workplace where everyone feels welcomed, respected and empowered to truly be themselves, at every stage of their career.
According to the British Menopause Society (BMS), 45% of women say their menopause symptoms have a negative impact on their work. 1 in 4 women transitioning into menopause say they don’t get the support they need from their manager. 47% of women who have needed to take a day off work due to menopause symptoms say they wouldn’t tell their employer the real reason.
At Bouygues UK, we recognise that the symptoms of menopause can have a huge effect on a woman’s comfort and performance when working and we are committed to supporting our colleagues through this time in their lives. This is why we have signed up to Wellbeing of Women’s Menopause Workplace Pledge, so we can ensure we are doing everything we can to support and inform our staff around the topic.
By signing this pledge, Bouygues UK commits to recognising that the menopause can cause difficulties in the workplace and women need support. We know how important it is to strengthen our commitment to encouraging open, positive, and respectful conversations about the menopause. Our dedicated guide which we offer to all staff is part of our ongoing efforts to support and inform our employees affected by menopause in the workplace.
