The landmark LEMO (UK) headquarters has been built to provide a distinctive new facility for LEMO to develop its UK base and create additional capacity. The iconic design features a prominent curved façade that reflects the company's high tech corporate image.

The distinctive new headquarters in the heart of Worthing will help keep LEMO (UK) Ltd at the forefront of developments in their key markets.

The facility includes warehousing, manufacturing and prototyping facilities, a R&D laboratory and office, plus administration space and a cafeteria.

A major design challenge for this project was to respect the low-rise scale and context of the surrounding area without compromising functionality or the corporate image of the company. Taking the outstanding architectural character of the area into consideration, the team placed particular emphasis on maintaining a number of views in and around the site.

The award-winning design involved the stepping back of each successive floor and includes a curved facade, allowing views through the site into the nearby church and surrounding area.

A holistic ‘green’ approach to the entire site has been encouraged and achieved by surrounding the building with soft landscaping and high quality paved car parking areas. Trees and vegetation border the site, further softening the transition from site to neighbourhood.

The finished building is a credit to all members of the team and provides a significant landmark in the heart of Worthing.
