HRH Duke of Edinburgh opens new science building at the University of Hertfordshire
On Thursday 3rd November, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh officially opened the new science building at the University of Hertfordshire, an exceptional teaching and research facility delivered by Bouygues UK.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s visit included a tour of the new building, which was designed to bring together all of the University’s science facilities in one place, and to create a state-of-the-art teaching and laboratory space for students and staff.
Representatives from Bouygues UK and the building’s architects Sheppard Robson were introduced to the Duke before he took the opportunity to observe research projects taking place in the new building and visit the impressive new Simulation Suite which incorporates a simulation pharmacy and clinical environment. This enables the university to train students for careers in Nursing and Midwifery, Paramedic Sciences, Pharmacy, Optometry and Postgraduate Medicine.
